Next weekend I'm having my first jewelry party. It's at my friend's house and it's a brunch-type thing where people can come have some food and look through my pieces (and hopefully buy some Mother's Day gifts).
And I'm totally terrified. What if they hate it? What if they talk smack about the prices (which are way too low, by the way, but I'm somehow physically incapable of raising them)? What if we go to all this work and then no one buys anything? What if no one comes?
oh i think that's a great idea. it'll be so much nicer relaxing with brunch and company to look through jewellery rather than browsing shops or internet. your pieces are lovely - and very varied - so I'm sure there'll be something to suit everyone and I'm certain you'll make some sales!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand the anxiety though - I've hosted two clothes swaps and worried incessantly each time about whether people will show up and whether they'll all get on and what if noone wants anything... etc.etc. not quite the same as obvs the clothes weren't my own handiwork but it's always a bit of a worry hosting (they both worked great btw!)
Good luck with it and I'm sure it'll all go fine. People will come because they're interested in your jewellery so you're already off to a good start with making sales. Plus as LK says tea and jewellery - who could ask for more :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I'm sure it will be a success. Also: I had no idea you were in The Town So Nice they Named it Twice! You are not so far away from my home town, actually...
ReplyDeleteWish I could be there!
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no. Your pieces are absolutely lovely. How do I get my mitts on some?! Creative, stylish girl, you.
ReplyDelete(Oh, and of course now I see I can just click through to purchase. hee hee)
ReplyDeleteI think brunch was a good time to held your event. It sounds very relaxing to me. Anyway, setting up this kind of event for the first time can be a little terrifying. But when you see the adoring and admiring looks of your guests and attendees, your fear will melt away. I bet you felt the same. Anyway, how was the party? I hope you had loads of fun!
